Femi Ladi uses precise craft to make reality feel a little less certain. His films work through visual metaphor, expressive performance and a willingness to let the surreal into the room.

“My Family,” his video for Pa Salieu and BackRoad Gee, uses motion control to celebrate found family. It won Best Hip Hop Video at the 2021 UKMVAs. His award-winning short “Oba” turns to identity and heritage, bringing those questions into an Afrofuturist world.

Away from filmmaking, Femi supports Manchester United. His commitment to dramatic turns is not confined to the screen.
