Hannah Berry George, also known as HBG, is a writer-director with a taste for playful, off-kilter comedy. Her background takes in journalism, sketch, stand-up and improv. She knows how to find the story, then disturb it just enough.

Her work has won a Cannes Lions Grand Prix and multiple Creative Circle Awards, and has been screened by BFI and NOWNESS. Experienced in working with high-profile talent, Hannah also originated and directed MBC’s first docuseries.

She was shortlisted for the BBC Comedy Collective in 2025. The straight face is very much part of the technique.
