Brazilian and Turkish, raised in the US, educated in the UK and living between Paris and São Paulo, Kayhan Lannes Özmen has more than one place to call home. His film studies also took him to Tisch in New York and PUC in Rio de Janeiro.
He works across documentaries, music videos, short films and commercials, bringing a feel for rhythm and an interest in intimate, believable encounters. The image may have scale; the people still matter.
His 2016 short “Girl on the Escalator” travelled the international festival circuit. A repeatedly commissioned NOWNESS director, Kayhan has made work for Ford, Stella Artois, Old Spice and Netflix.
