Sarah McColgan is a Los Angeles-based director and photographer with an eye for colour, light and the person inside the image. A graduate of New York’s School of Visual Arts, she began in editorial photography before moving into film.
She has directed more than 60 music videos, with recognition from the MTV VMAs, CMT, UKMVA and film festivals. Her work also includes commercial and personal projects, alongside creative direction for print and broadcast campaigns.
Sarah is interested in how beauty and identity are shown, and whose gaze shapes the picture. An image can be carefully made without asking the person in it to be perfect.
