Stoichemaan are a director-cinematographer duo with an unusually precise approach to the absurd. Their characters and worlds begin with playful slips in language and logic. The result can be nonsensical and, somehow, feel inevitable.
Their work moves between films, series and meta-documentaries, often leaving linear narrative behind. The projects are accompanied by “Indexicals”: speculative notes that question the format and form of the work itself.
Strange by design. Nothing accidental about the framing.
