Sophie Gold recognized as one of Ad Age’s 2021 40 under 40 honorees
Congratulations to Eleanor’s founder and Executive Producer, Sophie Gold, for being recognized as one of Ad Age’s 2021 40 under 40 honorees. The Ad Age Under 40 list honors the best of the best: digital stars, data scientists, entrepreneurs, and talented individuals in the world of media and marketing, who have been responsible for helping to advance a business or a brand within the last 12 months. With over 10 years of experience as an EP, Sophie Gold is a lighthouse for creatives, supporting and empowering talent every step of the way.
With no backup plan in mind, Sophie stepped out into the world at 16, determined to build a life for herself that would make her parents proud.
“It’s funny, I remember being in my 20’s running around New York and not really knowing who I was or what I was doing, and kind of just finding a foot for myself in the industry. And then you’re in your thirties feeling good, settled, and confident. I look back and I think of everything that I’ve achieved up until this point, specifically with Eleanor in the last 2 years, and I’d say, even though I’m living it, it’s pretty impressive.”
The work that Sophie has done throughout her career, most especially at Eleanor, has put her in a position to inform and shape the future of the industry. As the only certified female, Black-owned commercial production company in the US, Sophie pushes for diversity hoping that Eleanor’s solo position in the production world will not last long. When asked about how she’s able to stay motivated amid a pandemic and life’s inevitable changes, Gold stated, “I’m really f*cking stubborn and I don’t have a Plan B. It’s do or die.” Sophie’s determination and can-do attitude is a true testament to her ongoing success. Take a closer look at Sophie's whirlwind career here.
